Emilie Arfeuil

Après des études de cinéma à la Sorbonne, Emilie Arfeuil développe un travail photographique personnel à mi-chemin entre une approche documentaire, quasi anthropologique, et une expression artistique libre.

Son travail puise dans le réel et dans la rencontre intime, à travers un processus immersif au long court qui transforme à la fois le projet, ses protagonistes et l’artiste elle-même. Ses projets questionnent principalement la notion d’identité et ses transformations, au travers de l’Histoire individuelle ou collective, de l’appartenance et de la représentation, de l’hybridation et du métissage. 

After cinema studies at the Sorbonne University, Emilie Arfeuil developed a personal photographic work halfway between a documentary, almost anthropological approach, and a free artistic expression.

Her work draws from reality and from intimate encounters, through a long term immersive process which transforms at the same time the project, its protagonists and the artist herself. Her projects question mainly the notion of identity and its transformations, through the individual or collective History, through the belonging and the representation, and through the hybridization and the melding.
